Question : SQL 2005 backup autoloader support

Forgive the newb question but I can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere. Does SQL 2005's native backup support using an autoloader? In other words will the backup wait for the autoloader to change (Dell Powervault TL4000 in this case) the tape and resume on the next tape? I.E. spanning multiple tapes automatically?

I think you will find that like NTBackup, SQL server 2005 does not support autoloaders, only stand alone drives.  I would recommend purchasing Backup Exec and the SQL Server licence.  You will need to add a further licence if you are using more than one tape drive in the autoloader.
