Question : text wont appear in word 2007

Im having a problem where i cant see what im typing in word 2007. if i type in the header or footer i can see what im typing. If i open an old document i can see the text and make changes also. I have all the security off for hidden text.

Copy normal.dot from another system that has 2007 installed on it and overwrite yours.
