Question : tighten up table II
Good afternoon expert,
Still trying to figure this out.,
Using Word 2007 in some tables the spacing is tight with cell borders close to the text and in others it is loose with cell corders far away from the text, see inages attached. I have checked the table properties in the Options area, in the Row hieght and severall other places but I can find no difference in the settings of the two table but the look of them is very different. How do I tighten up the layout of the loose lasyout table?
I thought that the way to do it was with cell Options (in Table Properties ) and Row heiight but when I change the row hieight the space below the text is decrreaed (and eventaully the bottom of the text disappears) but the padding above the cell stays the same. How is it that one table appears so very different from the other but none of the settings have scintilla of difference? More infuriating is that I have serached for nhours on Microsoft's site and there is nothing on this.
When I asked this question previously a repl was given to select the paragraph and and change the before/after spacing but there is no way to select trext in atable as a paragraph. The responder then coorected himself and said to select the paragraph and change the spacing but there does not seem to be such an option. The only option I can find when the table is slected is Table Properties.
Thanks.
Allen in Dallas.
