Question : SIDs not resolving to User to Group names
I have been asked to clean up explicit Share and NTFS permission assignments on our data servers. In doing so, one just one of the servers, I discovered over 350 assignments to SIDs that do not resolve to User or Group objects. I know this company used the ADMT to merge multiple domains into one a year or so ago but was not involved at that time.
I thought about just deleting them but I was told they had tried that in the past and the associated migrated object was also deleted when they deleted the unresolvable SID. Doesn't make any sense to me so I was wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions on how to address all of these unresolvable SIDs.
We have numerous GCs and netdiags shows all replication is functioning correctly.
