Question : Files are Read-Only

I had some Shares on a external drive and I lost connection to the drive. After I reconnect it (iSCSI) I recreated the shares, and the permissions were there already, but now all the files open as Read-Only. I checked the folders and they are not Read-Only. What can be wrong?

Answer : Files are Read-Only

Connect your laptop or anohter server to the serial.  Download Putty or use terminal server and connect on serial connection first.  Once you do this and run 'setup' you'll configure the interfaces and then you'll be able to use ssh or telnet.  Until you have an IP Address configured via serial then you don't have anything to telnet to.
