Question : Copy database from 1 server to another

I have hundreds of databases. From time to time I need to move a database to another server.
Currently I am
   backing up the database,
   FTP the backup to the new server,
   then creating/restoring the DB on the new server.
 
Is there a simple automated way to do this?

Answer : Copy database from 1 server to another

You can copy the data base to another server
are using Microsoft SQL Server 2008
if so go to management studio
right click on the database go to Tasks
->Select Copy Database and then a wizard will appear
there
click next select source server and authendication
click next select destination server and authendication
click next use second option rather than first
select databases that needed to copy
click next until finish the wizard
