Question : Timeout Expired max pool size was reached

Hi,

We are using IIS6 with SQL 2005 for database.

We are getting a lot of The timeout period elaspsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occured because all pooled cnnections were in use and max pool size was reached.

How can we rectify this issue, what setting for application pool could solve this.

Currently:
Recycle worker processes enabled : 1740mins
rest is unchecked under recycling

Under performance:
idle timeout: 20
request queue limit: 4000
rest is unchecked
max number of worker processes: 1

Under health:
Pinging is enabled: 30
Rest under rapid fail protection:
failures: 5
time period: 5
start up time limit: 90
shutdown limit: 90

Thanks

Answer : Timeout Expired max pool size was reached

Use the sumproduct formula:

PO Formula:
=SUMPRODUCT(('Tracker '!$J$3:$J$38="PO")*(MONTH('Tracker '!$B$3:$B$38)=MONTH(Summary!$A4))*('Tracker '!$D$3:$D$38=B$2)*('Tracker '!$G$3:$G$38))

IR Formula:
=SUMPRODUCT(('Tracker '!$J$3:$J$38="IR")*(MONTH('Tracker '!$B$3:$B$38)=MONTH(Summary!$A22))*('Tracker '!$D$3:$D$38=B$20)*('Tracker '!$G$3:$G$38))
