Question : Added 2nd Win 2003 DC local site - don't see in auto replication link
I have 1 domain with two sites connected by private tunnel. The remote location has a DC with DNS and is set up as a GC. The local is simply to handle all authentication requests and perform print server duties. It also has DHCP, DNS and is a GC. Replication between sites working fine and in sites and services you can see the replication link between DCLOcal and DCRemote.
I'm adding a new DC at the local site and will be removing the original which has older hardware. I prepared the domain for the new DC (2003 R2) and promoted to a domain controller. It was succesfully promoted and added to the correct site. Initially got KCC error but appears to have been at reboot (error 1265). I then get 3 event id 1264 15 mins later which as i understand means all is ok.
However, the NTDS for DCLocal shows automatically generated replication between newDC and DCRemote but NTDS for newdc only shows DCLocal and DCRemote has DClocal.
It's been 15 hours or so and this is still the case. I do need to add DNS to the new domain controller.
Not sure if i missed something or the DNS is the reason NTDS is not showing the complete replication ring across all 3 domain controllers.
Thanks
