Question : TS profiles v2 for Windows Server 2008 are empty

Hello Everybody;

We have Win2k3 TS server and users using Windows Server 2008. The profiles are being created in a shared folder as normal and it is working great. The profiles getting created automatically and .v2 extension is showing up at the end of each profile indicating that they are indeed v2 for 2008.

We have a corrupted user profile so I had to create him a new one, the issue is that I need to copy some settings from the old profile to the new profile ... the issue is  I can't access his or any other TS profiles as domain administrator ...  I always get "access is denied" and the folder looks empty and I know for sure it is not empty because users settings are being saved.

The problem is no matter what I do,  it will not show up anything in the folder. it is just simply empty.

I though it is a permissions issue so I have done the following but no luck:

- added my self in the security tab permissions and give my self "Administrator" full admin rights
- added my self to the security special permissions and give my self full access.
- chnage ownership of the folder and tried to access it but no luck.

I don't know how I will be able to view the content of the folder as I need to copy some settings to the newly created profile.

Any suggestions ? Can someone help please?? !

Answer : TS profiles v2 for Windows Server 2008 are empty

Ok, I found the solution; I'm able to see them from the console not through RDP.

Well; to be specific, I found my self unable to take ownership of the TS profile if I'm connecting to the server via RDP.

I went to the console "we are using VMware" and tried taken the ownership and it worked like a charm from the first try.

I don't know why this is happening ... but it is working now ..
