I got a free PC about a year ago.The PC is a Gateway 400C using Win98. I used it a few times when I first got it, and it worked fine. I went to turn it on a few days ago, and when it started up a screen came up where it detected my keyboard, and mouse then paused... gave two beeps, paused...then gave one beep and this message came up "B:Drive Error Press F1 to Resume" when I press F1 a screen comes up that looks like a BIOS screen, but only lists minimal info; It says Drive not Ready Insert Boot Diskette in A: Press any key to continue... this is the only option. I don't have any boot discs or a win98 cd I've been searching everywhere on line, but haven't found a fix yet. I found one thread from several years ago that mentioned replacing the CMOS battery for the same symptoms. I purchased a ew battery, but this did not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
