Question : How to record streaming audio silently
I have an HP Pavilion dv7-3160us entertainment notebook. I have a program called RecordPad for recording streaming audio from the internet. My old laptop was a Toshiba P105-S6124 entertainment notebook, and on it I was able to record streaming audio from the internet using line in, without sending the audio to the speakers. In this manner I could save the audio for playback later. However, I can't figure out how to do the same thing with the new laptop. There appears to be no "line in" channel. Can anyone suggest a workaround? I can plug a set of headphones in, but I'd prefer a more elegant solution.
