Question : Excel 2007 vlookup returns position rather than value
Using Excel 2007, vlookup from worksheet A references a single column in worksheet B. There is nothing wrong with the formula. In one instance the formula works fine, but when I use the same formula in another worksheet the vlookup returns not a text value but numeric values that appear to be position-related (i.e. 0,0,0,0,1,1,4,4,4,4).
I've checked formatting, the formula, the worksheet format (xlsx vs. xls) and I cannot determine what there is about this worksheet/reference that causes the vlookup to not return a text value.
