Question : Extracting First and Last Name in Excel

Have an Excel sheet of data. One of the columns is in the format of Last Name; First Name.
Is there a function I can use that would allow me to separate this data into first name in one field and last name in another. I seem to remember that there was some way for Excel to detect either the semicolon or the space and extract to the left and right of the break. Have looked, but can't find the function.

Answer : Extracting First and Last Name in Excel

Yes, use the Text to Columns feature. Select your cells then click the button. You will probably need to use a space as a delimeter. I usually have to clean up a few cells afterwards becuase some people have Spaces in their names. Works great though.
