Question : Excel Dashboard

Experts,
I have been looking for some dashboard software. I tried InfoCaptor but found the help inadequate. I would like to create Excel dashboards for my management team. The software I've seen costs $x,xxx - way too much. Any suggestions, please.

Answer : Excel Dashboard

You can create a dashboard with the Excel “CAMERA”.  On a source sheet or multiple sheets create your pivot tables, graphs and tables the way you want them to look in a dashboard.  Spread them out so each one has independent column spacing so one table or pivot is not overlapping another one above or below it as they grow over time.    Then, create a worksheet called Dashboard (or your name of choice)

Add the CAMERA icon to your Quick Access Toolbar - (Excel Options...)  see graphic

Highlight what you want to take a picture of and then click on the CAMERA icon on the quick access toolbar.  The cursor will turn into a small cross.  Go to the Dashboard tab and begin to draw a small box and let go of the mouse.  A picture of what you had highlighted on the previous worksheet will appear on the Dashboard sheet.  It is linked to the original cells and will change each time the original cells change.  You have to work with different fonts, colors, etc…  to get things to look like you want them but this may be a solution for you without any additional expenses.

There is an EE Article about the Excel Camera that may also be helpful.
