Question : Unknown space after hot swap Raid 5

Hi All,

I am running raid 5 on PERC 5/I, PowerEdge 2950. 4 Drives. “D:”
Last week I noticed that I am missing space from my D drive. Closer examination using dell’s Open Manage revealed that one of the drives has failed. I hot swapped the drive and the array resynced itself. Now Open Manage is showing that everything is functioning correctly but I am still missing space from “D”. When I scan the drive using WinTree it shows this space as “Unknown Space”

How do I fix this without having to reconfigure the array and recover from backup?

Answer : Unknown space after hot swap Raid 5

OpenSpirit is the best tool to go.

We as an Energy Company use it for data exchange between our databases.

You will need to have your own Module AND/OR  STD and DB structure before you can use it

Here is what they are saying about their tool:

Data management workflows accelerate finding, viewing and sharing of data among data stores and applications, whether from your desktop, E&P portal environments, or both.

With OpenSpirit, end users can view data concurrently from multiple sources using common viewing tools, while ensuring proper conversion of units and geographic coordinate transformations

Good luck
