Question : how to see flv in ubuntu

I cannot play my java lesson video (flv format) on my computer running ubuntu.  I have the newest ubuntu (10.04.1 if I remember).  I have tried kaffeine and movie player.  I don't know how to download/use codecs.  I think they might be important but I don't really know what they are.

Answer : how to see flv in ubuntu

install vlc media player. this has flv support, along with a slew of other media formats.
