Question : exchange 2010

hi ive been having lots of trouble with exchange 2010 where i cant recreate my ews and ecp directorys , so i have now given up and installed a second exchange 2010 server on my network
my plan is to move all my mailboxes from one exchange to the other and then remove the original one. the virtual directories all work fine on the second one so what i want to know is will this work or is there potentially issues im overlooking?
