Question : This program cannot be run in DOS mode.
I am running the 230+MB install for .NET 3.5 sp1 on a Windows Server 2003 host. I keep getting the following error: "This program cannot be run in DOS mode."
Any pointers in the right direction would be great.
I've tried renaming the file to an 8.3 compliant filename and placing it in the root of the drive.
I've checked that it is not running in any compatibility mode.
Permissions are good. I am running it as a local admin. My account is the owner of the file.
I've tried using Add/Remove programs.
I've tried clicking on the file through the GUI as well as using the CLI.
I have not explored any CLI arguments with the file (dotnetfx35.exe)
ex:
D:\>dotnetfx35.exe /?
