Question : Windows XP does not see other computers on the workgroup

I am normally able to see other computers on the office network.  The Sony laptop, running Windows XP can no longer see these computers.  The main problem is that I need to add a printer that is shared by another computer running Windows XP on the network to the Sony.  I can ping the computer and both computers are running XP.  The printer is seen by other computers on the network.  I've tried renaming the workgroup on all computers, restarted and it still does not see them.  Any suggestions anyone?  I'm lost on this one.  Thank you.

Have you tried to disabled the Windows Firewall on the PC that cannot see other devices on the network? Also if you have any 3rd party firewalls I would also suggest disabling them for testing to ensure this is not the case. Also make sure that they are on the same workgroup.

Also make sure that the permissions for Share and NTFS are set correctly.
