Question : HP EVA MPIO from Windows 2008 R2
I have a new SQL server that is connected to an HP EVA SAN over iSCSI. I am using multiple NIC's for the connection to provide load balancing and a level of redundancy.
I believe I have to use MPIO (Windows server 2008 R2 on HP DL360 G6) to provide this functionality but am hitting roadblocks and have several questions;
1) Should I use the Microsoft DSM or download from HP (please provide link id if possible)
2) How is MPIO configured in Server 2008? I have the app installed and open and am stuck on the "MPIO Devices" - does it matter what is typed here?
3) Can you provide very basic instructions on steps to set this up, or a link to a doc that describes the process clearly?
Thanks,
AlanB
Answer : HP EVA MPIO from Windows 2008 R2
In the absence of any responses;
I ended up downlaoding the HPM DSM - it appears that the MS MPIO feature in Windows 2008 must be added prior in order for this to work.
