Question : HTTP 403 Forbidden error in WordPress installation
Ok, I'm totally new to working with WordPress, PHP AND MySQL.
That said, PHP 5, PHPMyAdmin and MySQL are all succesfully installed on our server. I have uploaded the WordPress installation folder into a subdirectory of one of the many domains we host on our server.
I modified the wp-config.php file according to the instructions on the WordPress website. Then I attempted to install via the internet browser.
I am able to get through the steps in the browser of naming the WordPress blog, entering in my e-mail address, being assigned a username and password (username is 'admin' and the password is automatically generated with lots of odd characters.) It tells me the installation is complete. When I then click on the link to login, I use the username and password it assigned me, and at that point I get an HTTP 403 Forbidden error.
I have cleared the db tables and gone through this installation process three or four times now with the same result. Each time it generates a new password.
I know I'm entering in the password correctly because I'm simply copying and pasting it from one place to another.
Any ideas on what might be going wrong?
Thanks in advance!
Sara

Answer : HTTP 403 Forbidden error in WordPress installation
Actually, I've finally solved this myself. I simply needed to add index.php as a document under Default Content Page in the properties in IIS.
Go me!
