Question : server 10g listener crush - please help

Hi Experts

after error ora-12516  the listener crush and no user can connect the DB's.
i tried restart services and reboot but nothing help.
i can not even change the number of processess to get over the problem.

the last error was:
Listener could not find available handler with matching protocol stuck.

i tried to run alter system set processes=500 scope=spfile;
 and then make restart the service. and the listener srush.
every connection we get 12514 error.

please help

Answer : server 10g listener crush - please help

create a new pfile, you can use your alert log to set the parameter values. then use below command by passing the path and file name of new pfile to startup the db:
STARTUP PFILE=<filename>
