Question : MS Word 2010 Is there a way to make "include chapter numbers" on page numbers work in a document with 2 multilevel lists?
I have a Word 2010 .doc. Sample attached.
The sections are numbered 1, 1.1, 1.2, 2, 2.1 ....
I also have appendices. I want to number them A, B, C etc.
I want page numbers by section, so section 1 is numbered 1-1, 1-2, 1-3
I want the pages of the Appendices to be numbered A-1, A-2, A-3
I have tried to define a new multileveled list starting with Appendix A applying "from this point forward". When I do that it renumbers all the prior pages A-1, A-2 etc.
I could force the page numbers to work by going into every section and setting the section number by hand. That is put in "1-" or "2-" or A-" and just have Word enter the page number.

But Word has a feature to automatically put in the section number. It there a way to make this work in a document that has two different multilevel lists?
