Question : interfacing software for intravenous infusion pumps

I am trying to interface the IVAC 7100 intravenous infusion pump to the rs232 serial port of my computer. One company wants to sell me the technical manual for this but I only want to collect the data from the machine rather than anything fancy,
Does anyone know of forum online where I could start to discuss how this is possible, something like a serial interfacing forum,

If you can decipher the captured data in hyperterm, you could use a utility called ByteWedge to pick up the required items and write into a database such as Access. I have used it for years, very reliable.

What are you seeking to achieve with this? Can you post some captured data?
