Question : DNS config between different domain trees in forest
I've just created a new domain tree in my forest. This new domain now hosts its own DNS name space/zone. The root domain has multiple DNS zones that users in the new domain tree will need to query. Should I setup forwarders on my new domain tree DNS servers to the other zones and vise versa? or can I share zones between the root domain and the new domain tree dns servers, or will that cause multiple copies of DNS Zones on different DNS partitions and cause problems? Please advise?
Answer : DNS config between different domain trees in forest
I think the best way is to setup zone specific forwarders in DNS. If you create DNS zones on the other servers then you have to worry about replication as well as someone messing around where they should not.
