Question : Problem with SharePoint alerts and timer jobs
I've migrated our external sites to a new farm. I've detached and re-attached the content databases and everything seemed to work fine. The only problem that I've noticed with our users is that the alerts sometimes work and sometimes they don't. I've looked at the timer jobs for the immediate alerts and they fail about half the time.
Here are some of the things I've tried:
I've fixed the ImmedSubscriptions table within each Content database as described here:

om/kb/9367
59
I also tried the steps listed here as well:

I did look at the event viewer and it shows an error whenever the timer job fails. This is basically what it says:
The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.SharePoint.Admin
istration.
SPImmediat

Definition
(ID 8e8a3e52-c990-446d-a6c5-3e

) threw an exception. More information is included below.
Exception occurred. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80020009 (DISP_E_EXCEPTION))
I'm not sure what else to try, but I would appreciate any ideas you might have.
Thanks!
