Question : IIS WebDAV as an alternative to sharepoint and/or SMB over VPN

Is there any reason not to use WebDAV over an SSL connection to publish a shared folder for remote users?

We're currently using WSS 3 and remote windows users map a drive letter to the shared document workspace. Remote mac users use the website because of an issue with the AppleDouble files that start with . that are created when the sharepoint site is mounted in finder.

I'd like to use the WebDAV instead because:
The data can be stored in a normal file folder instead of a SQL database like WSS
WAY simpler than WSS, if WebDAV site is messed up it takes 30 seconds to recreate
Mac users can attach WebDAV share in finder since it lets you save files that start with .
Local users can map to SMB share and remote users to WebDAV with same drive letter

Seems like a good solution to me, is there any reason NOT to do it?

Thanks Experts :)

Answer : IIS WebDAV as an alternative to sharepoint and/or SMB over VPN

MalwareBytes is designed to be run in normal mode, safe mode is not necessary.

For cleaning the system: MalwareBytes, ComboFix, HitmanPro, as well as ATF/TFC or CCleaner are good ones.
Plus other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot when problems persist.

For antivirus I use the FREE Avast, for anti-malware I'm using MalwareBytes with real-time protection.
I use Windows Firewall, and ensure that Windows and programs are fully updated.
I also use Spywareblaster which blocks activeX-based malware without wasting any resources.
I'm sure other users also have their own personal preference in AV and anti-malware.
