Question : cannot access own website from SBS 2008 domain

I've got a head scratcher I can't figure out. We just installed a new sbs 2008 server last weekend to replace our sbs 2003. The new setup also includes an external router/firewall. In the office lan is a Linux webhost named "webserver" it has two NIC cards, one connected to the office LAN/domain and one directly connected to the Internet.

Anyone on the planet can get to the website: http://www.ohprs.org, but no one on any of the domain workstations can get to it! They get I.E. message "Internet Explorer cannt display the webpage". They can, however, get to every other webpage on the Internet, just not our own.

This setup has worked fine for years before installing the router/SBS 2008 this weekend. What's up?

The router, 192.168.0.1,  is configured with ISP supplied DNS addresses.

The SBS 2008, 192.168.0.2,  is the domain DHCP controller. On the sbs 2008 network configuration I have specified 192.168.2 and lately added 182.168.1 as DNS addresses. Workstations are set to get IP from DHCP controller. What else can I add?

HELP!

Answer : cannot access own website from SBS 2008 domain

>In the office lan  is a Linux webhost named "webserver" it has two NIC cards, one connected to the office LAN/domain and one directly connected to the Internet.

So the linux server has 2 IP Addresses. One on the WAN and one on the LAN.
Lets say the the IP Address of the linux web server on the LAN is 192.168.0.3
You can ping 192.168.0.3 from a workstation - all good
You can possibly even browse to http://192.168.0.3/ and get your web page
BUT when you goto http://www.ohprs.org/ you get nothing

As you suggested create an A record in the SBS2008 server for www.ohprs.org pointing to 192.168.0.3

Use the DNS Management Console.
- If there is already a forward lookup zone for ohprs.org add an A record in there for the internal address of the webserver

- if there is not a forward lookup zone for ohprs.org add the zone www.ohprs.org. (yes with the www) then add an A record for the webserver. Image attached.

Creating a zone with the WWW will avoid messing up any other lookups for other external hosts in the ohprs.org
