I have a web page that is broken when using IE8 on my two computers - my laptop running Vista and my desktop running XP. The page works fine on Firefox, Safari on Apple, and Chrome.
Colleagues running IE8 on Windows have no problem with the web page - it is just me. Could this be an ISP issue? Could there be an uppercase/lowercase issue with the name of the file (the initial cap)?
Here are some of the error messages (line numbers etc. removed):
Message: Invalid character Message: ASP.NET Ajax client-side framework failed to load. Message: 'Sys' is undefined
Details for Invalid character say: scriptresource.axd
One more detail: there is a Play button on the broken page. When the page works properly, I click on the Play button and an .aspx page loads which runs a Flash animation. In its broken condition, I click on the Play button and nothing happens. If I actually go to that page, it is blank except for a small (Google?) icon at the top left corner of the blank window.
Any ideas? Although I realize it might help, I cannot include a URL or a View Source text.
