Question : Desktop Dating Site - criminal activity - given new web privacy laws for such as Facebook

I was approached to day by Desktopdating.com by a friend I knew.......not to cause offence I agreed to be a friend after checking with McAFee it was viral free and knowing about social networking steered carefully away form the site without as far as I could see positively agreeing to sending out invitations...it would appear I failed.  I would like to sue the website owners (who picked up my e-mail probably because we have been looking to source from India for our import business .......and I know that at no time were any positive questions shown nor suggested that an innocuous continue button probably set in motion an automatic e-mail dump.  As i understand from friends in silicon valley this is now considered illegal.  What is your take and how can I scare them off

Answer : Desktop Dating Site - criminal activity - given new web privacy laws for such as Facebook

Probably can check out does this constitute to internet cyber crime. From the reading it looks like more of harvesting of credential (but voluntary maybe it is unknowingly). Privacy rule will have to come in but probably better to seek advice from the law enforcement authority (or complaint centre) if the case is not clear
