Question : How to references as links within word document

Hi all,

I am trying to do a very basic stuff but unfortunaly being not aware of it, its taking me long to figure it out.
I am sure it should be simple
What I want to do is,
attch a reference number to a link of to a word may be (depends) e.g [1] , [2] ...
but make it like a hyper link, when clicked should move to the actual reference in the appendix

Can any please let me know how to achieve that.

Answer : How to references as links within word document

The easiest way to do this is with bookmarks.

Highlight the word or section you wish to go to - on the insert ribbon select bookmark.  Give it a name that makes sense e.g. bmk_section1

Then go to the word that you wish to make a link to this section in the Appendix
Highlight it and click ctrl + K or insert hyperlink from the menu.  Choose the option on the left that says place in this document and select the bookmark name.
