I have a Raid 5 volume on a Dell MD3000. I need to add some unallocated space to the current partition.

What is the best tool to use for this?

The OS is Windows 2003 Server.

Sounds like you are trying to start the process as the root user.

Try this command:
named -u named

This will start named as the named user and you should not get the permissions problem
