Question : Displaying List from another SubSite - SharePoint 2010

My boss has requested me to display a view of one specific list on another subsite in the same site collection. I thought I could do this with SPD and data views, but when I try to add a data view to the page from another site, it only displays the lists from my current site and that list is not available. Is there a new way to do this in 2010? Thanks.
