Question : 2008 TS apps run through 2008 RDS/TS

We are getting a Windows 2008 server and will be using it for RDS/TS.  However there is an  existing Windows 2000 Terminal Server that has running on it several apps that for various reasons - technical/finanical/political and  -  we don't want to move off the 2000 box and onto the 2008 box.  Is there a way we can have everybody RDP into the 2008 system but somehow on some people's desktops they would have a link to the application that is running on the Windows 2000 Terminal Server. For example on the Windows 2000 Terminal Server let's say we were running a program called TaxOne so that when people RDP'd into the 2000 TS they would have an icon for TaxOne, they would click on it and the program would run - all in a terminal session on that box.  What we would like now is that all the people RDP in through the 2008 server and some of them would have an icon on their desktop TaxOne which in effect would be shortcut to the TaxOne  icon/app on the 2000 TS server. Everything would work as before - it would be next to seamless to the user.  I guess the summary is that we want to run part of a 2000 TS desktop in a 2008 RDS/TS desktop.

Answer : 2008 TS apps run through 2008 RDS/TS

Well this can be done, with RDP over RDP (RDP session started within the first RDP session). If you add third party utilities to the mix then it can be made very transparent, meaning they would see the icon on the 2008 desktop and would simply click on it to run. The app would even look like a RemoteApp (seamless windows). But you need third party stuff for that. We had it for 2000 but since 2X acquired my company I am not even sure if their latest 2X ApplicationServer works on 2000. WTSPortal, our original product, worked.
