Question : Internet Security settings prevents me from opening a file

Hi,

I have a problem opening the program Putty.exe in Windows 7 after the machine was subject to a GPO that added several sites to the zone 'trusted sites'. The error message reads "Your Internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened." Prior to adding this GPO, I had no problems opening Putty, so I have tried to remove the GPO both from the server and the client, but the problem still persists. I am logged on as a local administrator on the client and I have tried to run the application as Administrator, but I am still getting the same result. Is there an URL that I can add as a trusted site or intranet site that will allow me to open Putty.exe, or are there any other settings that will do the same? As far as I know, Putty.exe is the only application that is affected by this so far.

Answer : Internet Security settings prevents me from opening a file

User Configuration –> Policies –> Administrative Templates –> Windows Components –> Internet Explorer –> Internet Control Panel –> Security Page –> Intranet Zone –> Launching programs and unsafe files

make gpresult /Z to some text file. Try to find GPO what affect.
