Question : 3G Datacard/USB fob question

Hi All

I am looking at introducing 3G Datacard/USB fobs for my organisation, and had some questions....

1. Does anyone know of any 3G Datacard/USB fob that DOESN'T require software installed on laptops?

2. What is preferable, 3G datacard or USB fob and why?

Also, we're looking at Mi-Fi type devices but see they are not available in all countries where we operate. That said, as long as the carrier is present in that country, we can surely just ship them out there can't we? I mean, our carrier is prevalent in most of Europe, so as long as we can get their signal, then using MiFi in one of their countries should be fine even if they don't actually sell the device there?

Answer : 3G Datacard/USB fob question

1. All devices will need to install drivers at least. I haven't seen one yet that doesn't also need software to operate.

2. I prefer USB, I would suggest they may give better signal however this is more of a question of personal preference based on form factor.

3. I would consult with your carrier about potential sim locking issues. If say a device is provided by Vodafone UK that doesn't guarantee that it will work with a Vodafone Spain sim card. They should be able to clarify.
