Question : Outlook 2010 asks for elevation
Hey
I was asked to help out on a problem where Outlook 2010 (part of Office 2010 package) was asking for elevation rights (UAC) every time it opened. More annoyingly you couldn't search anymore in Outlook either (and Search function in Win7 wasn't including any emails in search results). It all happened after the user had decided to do System Restore on this Windows 7 x86 computer.
So far I have reinstalled the Office package and also re-indexed the Outlook database to no avail. I discovered that if I turn UAC off Outlook opens without asking for permission and Search-funcionality also works. This is not a good solution though cause I'd prefer if that PC had UAC on. As we know Outlook should open without asking for elevation so I'd like to find a solution to it and need your help :)
Thanks

I trust you have checked that the shortcut/executable hasn't been set to run in administrative mode or Windows XP compatibility mode?
If it's in the task bar, hold down shift & right click > properties > compatibility.
