Question : Outlook 2007 pst filesize blown out

My Outlook refused to be restarted. I got the brilliant idea to check the size of my pst file - and it was way above 2GB.

I can (at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832925/) see how to change the max allowed size - however it says, that 2 GB is the limit.

I have renamed the original (huge) pst file and started Outlook with creating a new (empty) pst file and that works fine.

Now the big question is: Will I ever be able to get my old mails back?

Thank you in advance

Ib

Answer : Outlook 2007 pst filesize blown out

yes, outlook 2007 has the ability to see more than 2gb pst file size.

yours probably was corrupt and needed to be fixed.
you can go find the file and fix it via these instructions:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/repair-an-ost-or-pst-file-in-outlook-HA001056300.aspx

once fixed you can either attach it as 2nd pst or import all it's information into your current pst via the Import feature found under the file menu.
