Question : Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 Client Push Deployment

I am migrating from Symantec Antivirus to Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.6 on the client computers; I chose 10 computers to be installed and 4 out of 10 were not installed. I have Event ID 1807 with the message of the Security Center service has been stopped, it was prevented from running by a software group policy and Event ID 11708 with a message of Product, Symantec Endpoint Protection--Installation failed. I turned off Windows Firewall and tried to push deploy and I had the same error. I tried to add the TCP 139, I got the message with File and sharing already uses the port. There is no software restriction set up. I don't know what was blocking the deployment.

It sounds to me as though you will need to do a manual uninstall of the previous version on those workstations.  This does happen occasionally when deploying SEP over the top of much older versions (i.e., SAV 9 or 10). You can try a simple uninstall on those workstations using Add/Remove Programs, but it may not work.

Probably the easiest way to proceed would be to use the Symantec CleanWipe utility to wipe anything left behind by the previous installation and the attempt to install the new SEP. You have to contact Symantec support in order to get a link to download Cleanwipe, unfortunately.

You can also try the manual uninstallation process, but it takes a lot longer than using CleanWipe. You can find the instructions for the manual uninstall procedure by checking this document for your current (old) version that you need to uninstall:
